ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY



Course Overview
The Advanced Diploma in Computer Technology is designed to promote mastery of a cross-section of computing disciplines and to train a cadre of 21st Century technology entrepreneurs and professionals.
There is a focus on the development of strong hands-on technology skills encompassing critical Information and Communications Technology (ICT) areas including:
- Mastery of Office Productivity Software including a City & Guilds International Diploma
- Web and Internet technologies, including Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW) certification;
- PC Mechanics, computer repairs and trouble shooting;
- Practical Networking
- CompTIA A+ Certification preparation;
- CompTIA Network+ Certification preparation;
- Management Information Systems
- Programming Concepts
Participants will also have the benefit of a Communications and Personal Development module that will hone their inter-personal skills and will transfer vital life coping and communications skills to them. Graduates will be equipped to pursue careers in a wide range of computer-related disciplines.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should have 5 CSEC equivalents including Mathematics and English. If you are over the age of 25 years, you may be accepted to the program on the basis of work experience and prior learning. Alternatively, entry may be gained by a combination of sitting entry exams, interviewing and the compilation of a portfolio.
